Klassiki, a streaming service for contemporary and classic cinema from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, presents a new restoration of Hamo Beknazarian's classic 1928 film HOUSE ON THE VOLCANO in celebration of the centenary of Armenian cinema.
Hamo Beknazarian is the founding father of Armenian cinema. The historical melodrama recounts the brutal suppression of an oil workers’ strike in pre-revolutionary Baku. The film is presented with a new score by Juliet Merchant.
