The Cinematheque in Vancouver, British Columbia is set to host a series dedicated to Armenian Cinema.

Moving Mountains: The Centenary of Armenian Cinema is scheduled to run from June 15 until June 22, 2023. The series will include films such as LAND OF NAIRI (Hamo Beknazaryan), SONG OF FIRST LOVE (Yuri Yerznkyan), HELLO, IT'S ME (Frunze Dovlatyan), THE COLOR OF POMEGRANATES (Sergei Parajanov), CALENDAR (Atom Egoyan), A PIECE OF SKY (Henrik Malyan), AUTUMN SUN (Bagrat Hovhannisyan), and I'M GOING TO CHANGE MY NAME (Maria Sahakyan).

The series is the first Canadian retrospective survey of Armenian cinema’s volatile trajectory from the ideologically oriented silent period to the post-Soviet era of creative diversity and experimentation. Moving Mountains: The Centenary of Armenian Cinema is co-presented with the Armenian Cultural Association of British Columbia and the National Cinema Center of Armenia.

The Cinematheque's mission is to foster the appreciation of the art and legacy of cinema, and to advance critical thinking and thoughtful education about the impact of moving-images and screen-based media in society.
