Sony Moves Up Missing From February 24 to January 20

Sony is moving up Missing from February 24 to January 20.

Missing is a standalone sequel to the critically-acclaimed breakout film, Searching, from Sev Ohanian and Natalie Qasabian. The film is written and directed by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson, editors on the original film, based on a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty. The film is produced by Sev Ohanian, Natalie Qasabian, and Aneesh Chaganty. The film features a new set of characters, including Storm Reid and Nina Long, where the story will once again play out on the screens of the characters’ devices.

The new date marks the weekend after Martin Luther King Jr. Day and moves the film away from a weekend that includes the release of Universal's Cocaine Bear. Searching starred John Cho, Debra Messing, and Michelle La, and earned over $75 million worldwide on a budget that was less than $1 million.

Missing is scheduled for wide release in theaters everywhere.
