Missing Opens with $9.3 Million at Box Office

MISSING opened with a total of $9.3 million at the box office this weekend.

The film opened in 3,025 theaters, making $3.4 million on Friday (including previews) and $3.6 million on Saturday. The film has an 81% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes with an audience score of 91%, as well as a CinemaScore of B.

MISSING was joined at the top of the box office by AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER ($20 million), PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH ($11.5 million), and M3GAN ($9.8 million). MISSING is produced by Natalie Qasabian and Sev Ohanian, and is a spiritual sequel to their 2018 film, SEARCHING, which earned over $75 million worldwide.

Armenian Film Society hosted a Block Party screening of MISSING on opening night at the AMC Americana at Brand in Glendale where Natalie Qasabian and Sev Ohanian surprised guests before the start of the film.  Armenian Film Society will be hosting another screening this Saturday, January 28 at the AMC Americana at Brand, followed by a Q&A with producers Natalie Qasabian, Sev Ohanian, and Aneesh Chaganty, as well as directors Nick Johnson and Will Merrick.
