Bear McCreary Receives First-Ever Gaming Grammy Nomination

Bear McCreary has been nominated for the first-ever gaming Grammy for his work on Call of Duty: Vanguard. The nomination also marks his first Grammy nomination.

The 2023 Grammys will feature the first-ever gaming Grammy, with the addition of the category for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media.

Bear McCreary is the son of author Laura Kalpakian and professor Jay McCreary of University of Hawaii. The composer, who won an Emmy in 2013, has composed scores for projects such as The Walking Dead, Snowpiercer, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Battlestar Galactica, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
