AURORA'S SUNRISE, Armenia's official submission to the 2023 Academy Awards, will screen on the PBS series, POV, on October 23, 2023.
POV, a PBS series which features independent nonfiction films, recently announced its lineup for its 36th season. The program includes documentaries with Oscar pedigree, including AURORA'S SUNRISE, directed by Inna Sahakyan. PBS notes that half of its new season features films directed by women, and over two-thirds by filmmakers of color.
The season kicks off June 26 and airs on Monday nights. The films will be available for streaming "concurrent with broadcast” on all station-branded PBS platforms, including PBS.org and the PBS app.
