Armen Nahapetian is set to appear in Ari Aster's BEAU IS AFRAID as a younger version of the character of Beau. The adult version of the character will be portrayed by Academy Award-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix.
BEAU IS AFRAID is described as a "decades-spanning surrealist comedy horror film set in an alternate present," in which Joaquin Phoenix plays an “extremely anxious but pleasant-looking man who has a fraught relationship with his overbearing mother, and after her death, he makes a journey home that involves some wild supernatural threats”.
BEAU IS AFRAID is written, directed, and produced by Ari Aster, whose previous credits include HEREDITARY and MIDSOMMAR, and is set to be released in the United States by A24 in April 2023.
