Armen Aghaeian will produce horror master Junji Ito’s manga BLOODSUCKING DARKNESS into a live-action feature film with Fangoria Studios.

Armen Aghaeian is Senior VP of Fangoria Studios, which was launched in 2021 as an offshoot of the magazine to develop and produce film, television, and podcasts. This is set to be the first of three projects that the studio plans to adapt from Junji Ito’s vampire series, SMASHED: JUNJI ITO STORY COLLECTION.

Tara Ansley, Armen Aghaeian, and Abhi Goel will produce under Fangoria Studios alongside Yasu Kutami and Tsubasa Yamaguchi of Amuse Group USA. Jeff Howard will write and executive produce.

“Fangoria Studios is going to adapt my manga! I’m so excited to see how it will turn out. I hope I get to see the trailer in my dreams tonight." Junji Ito said to Variety.

“Junji Ito’s stories and visuals are pure nightmare fuel. The team at Fangoria is honored to be working alongside Junji Ito. We are excited to bring the horror found in the pages of his work to life onto the biggest screens possible," said Armen Aghaeian to Variety.
